10 December 2018
The stage was set, the curtains drawn and our little stars were ready to make their acting debuts. On Monday we held our Nativity play to an audience of proud parents, grandparents, friends and family. Our actors and actresses put on a show to remember, confidently reciting lines and singing songs to tell the story of the first Christmas. All of the preschool children have done very well in the past few weeks and we can see how much they got out from their Nativity play. They were comfortable and confident on stage and visibly enjoyed the attention and applause from the audience. Parents provided a wonderful range of costumes which enhanced the children’s experience. We were also very grateful to Miss Lewis who beautifully accompanied the children’s singing on her guitar.
You may have noticed that our Christmas elves were busy decorating the nursery last weekend. The children were memorised by the transformation and it has been lovely to see their reactions when arriving each day.
In the Art room our sand tray was turned into a winter wonderland complete with table salt for snow and lots of Christmas characters. Elsewhere in the nursery our Cheeky Elf has been causing mischief and the children have enjoyed finding him hiding in lots of different places.
On Friday we are having a Christmas jumper day in aid of Save the Children. All children are invited to wear a Christmas jumper instead of their uniform in exchange for a small donation to this worthwhile charity. If your child does not attend on Friday they can wear their Christmas jumper on any other day this week.
We are running our Christmas holiday club on 31st December and then from 2nd to 4th January. Booking forms have now been put out on the children’s pegs.
