The show must go on!

It wouldn’t be showbiz without last minute rehearsals to ensure our littles actors are ready for their big day on Monday. Two weeks ago we were slightly concerned that this year’s show was going to be more of a pantomime than a play. However, since then rehearsals took a new turn and our final run throughs were a huge success. Many of the children have excitedly told us about their costumes and are clearly looking forward to showing them off on Monday. There is lots happening on the day with two different performances so please check Famly to make sure you know where your child needs to be and at what time. We will be filming the whole Nativity play which means you can sit back and enjoy the show rather than video it yourself.

Since the last blog we have had a number of visitors to the nursery school. Last Thursday, some staff from the Prep School at St Columba’s College came to lead a forest school activity during our country walk session. The children explored the Fairy Woods, conducting a nature study and making bracelets from things they could find. St Columba’s Prep School are holding their next open day on  Tuesday, 26th February 2019 at 1:30pm- 2:30pm. This may be of interest to current parents of children whose children will move onto school in September 2020.

We were also visited by Alex Gooding, Head Community Coach at Batchwood Sports Centre. He gave the children a tennis taster session where they focused on balancing a ball on their racket and also did some agility exercises. Many parents remarked on how much the children enjoyed this session and we are looking into inviting him back during the Summer Holiday Club.

This weekend Santa’s elves have been busy decorating the nursery school. In the art room, one of our activities is letting the children decorate a small Christmas tree. If you are throwing away any old tree decorations (non-glass/ceramic) please could we have them for this activity.
